please sex my red devil people*****

hey all i have a six to seven inch red devil and id like to know its sex.... i have a rd hybrid that has been spending a lot of time with it... i bought it about 6 weeks ago at 2 1/2 inches, must be the fastest growing fish ive ever known!!! there seems to be a little hump but the fins dont seem very pointy???? also i suspect the fish its hanging an digging with is male, could all be back to front tho please check the pics theres a few of tank too!-) she/he has one black dot so its either a dotty or spot lol! thanks justin.

Id like to say that it is a male because of how quickly it has grown. From the pics, it is hard to tell. Are there other fish in the tank that are being buddy-buddy with it?

I agree. Anything else will just be a guess. The look of fins, the presence of a Nuchal Hump, and the rate of growth are not reliable ways to sex RD.

This is what you are looking for. Remove the fish, flip them over and then compare to this pic. There are many more threads on this subject if you need more help.

ok rear vent looks a little larger sought of in-between lol, theres a little spike poking out, rd x veija looks the same, parrot is well female massive bulging egg tube.... oscars are exactly the same size so def male right?? do fish sometimes get mixed up and attempt to pair same sex?
the vieja x rd devil has attempted to pair with both the rd and parrot, going everywhere together digging pits and rd vs parrot bi*ch fights over the veija x!!!! confused? lol
