Please sex my Salvini

I got a group of 6 a while back, all at ~2". Now they range in size from 2.5" to just over 5. I was hoping a pair would develop and I could sex them that way, but no luck so far.
So if you could, please take a shot at sexing these guys/gals.

Congratulations on 6 males by the look of things.

#1 and #2 are possibly stressed females given the red on the stomach and a very very very dull black splotch on the Operculum, but I'll stick with my original vote of Male.

#4 has a deformed area around the anal fin.

2 and 4 seem to have black blotches in the dorsal fin, but if they are female, it's the smallest/weakest black blotched females I've seen.

I don't believe this is a purely female characteristic though, see this male for example.

Definitely some black in the dorsal fin there.

It might be my screen, but that blotch looks blue. But I do know what you mean though, I've just had better luck with the blotch on the dorsal than I have with the one on the operculum. But I agree they do all look male, those tiny black flecks in 2 and 4 aren't large enough I'd feel safe calling them female.

Hi I agree they are probably all male. #2 might possibly be female but I doubt it... what size is #2?? Usually by the 4 inch size (you say some are 5 inches) the females really color up and have the black area/spot on their fin.. Oh well maybe someone around you is looking for a male and you can make a trade.. Good luck Sue
