Please sex these convicts

I bought 2 convicts today. In an earlier thread i said that i didnt want a male/female pair, but i changed my mind.

The guy at my LFS thought this was a female (and i agree)

He then said that this was a male (i'm not so sure)

they're both about the same size.

I would agree with the guy at the pet store, although can be hard to tell from just 2 pics. The female will have orange on the sides of her belly the male will not.

The one on the right in the top pic is definantly a female. The second pic looks to be male.

he is being picked on by the female a lot, do you think they might pair up or will this fighting continue?

If the male is less aggressive then the female she might not breed with him because he might not be suitable for her.

Was the female also in the tank before you introduced the male? like long enough to setup a territory?......if so she might jsut be defending her territory from the new guy.........keep us updated with their progress............
