hello people:), i have a piranha tank right now, but im planning on buying a slight bigger tank. my question to you guys is : what fish do you reccomend?
i have 3 years of aquarium experience now, and i realy like the hobby:headbang2, but now i want another tank, a bigger one, so i can keep monster fish like you guys;). i would buy a (in cm) 200x50x50 tank , or a 150x50x50 tank. so plenty of room for some special/rare/big fish, but do you guys have any good ideas of how to setup such a tank? and with what fish in it? thanks in advance:) please also post some pics of fish wich are able to live in such tanks:) Greetz from holland

Try Peacock Bass man,................ if you want to take it slow and go cheap first, get 3 oscars and at least 3 red belly pacus

Well I like the idea of 200x50x50 tank. Here are some monster fish you could add to that. All that Equals up tp 132 gallons. So we will say 130 gallons. Here are some fish you could add.

5-bichirs/polypterus of any type

2-Knife Fish ( Clown Knifes,Ghost Knife )

2-Gaint Plecos

3-Snooks ( Cichlids )

I would not recommend stingrays as they are not for beginners and are difficult to care for. The silver would be cool! As said before knife fish are sweet! I might by a 14 inch one soon! Should be crazy! Good Luck

yeah man:headbang2 knifefish rock:headbang2 but i find them a little stressy sometimes, i prefer big, easy going fish, like the pangasius sharks. and arowana's

is this combo possible:

-1 medium sized pleco
-1 arowana (silver or black?)
-2 large pangasius sangwotsei/paroon sharks
-1 big catfish
-...(ideas)

and then as setup for the tank, beach sand(or however you call it:confused: the beach type colloured sand i mean:grinno:) with some large rocks as decoration and a small amount of plants.

is this a good idea?

other ideas(picture is very welcome) of other interesting fish types and setups are welcome. i try to enlarge my knowlege of fish combo's and setups this way;) greetz

yea that would be cool. Sand is a little more tricky for cleaning but I like the look the best!

Common guys, your are recomending fish for a tank that is about the size of a 125g tank. 6 foot long by 20" wide by 20" high.

Peacock bass, silver aros, clown knives, rays, and pang sharks all will need a bigger tank then the 200 x 50 x 50 you have suggested. There are alot of large south/central america cichlids that would go well in that size of tank. Do lots of research and you'll come up with a good list of fish that will work for that size of tank.

atleast somebody has some sense, the rest of you are:screwy:. about the only fish on your list that could stay in that tank for any amount of time is a pleco.
