Well my silver aro has been great and healthy and eating ALOT. he has grown now to about 9 and a 1/2 inch's.
Well the far left of the tank has always had a big thick plant and it came un rooted so i took it out. also the amazonian sword leaf is now so tall that it goes up to the top of the water and lays flat.

My question is for the last couple of days i notice that he goes over to were the big plant used to be and will start franticlly swimming up and down the front of the tank rubbing his face. And avoids where the sword leaf has grown. He doesnt cruise around on the top like usual and is now exploring deep down too. It looks like hes restless but heck this might be normal, i dunno:confused:

1.is it cause the sword leaf has overgrown and taken top space(but he can easily weave in and out of it).......and i heard cover on the surface calms them?
OR!
2. Has he just gotten bigger and do i now need to finally move him from his 55gal baby stage tank. (but its 4 feet, EASILY 5 times as long as him and 13 in deep which is also longer than him so the dimensions fit him still)

It seems like something is becoming aggressive with aro or at the very least something is spooking him. What is the water temp? I am asking because you have a large-mouth bass with tropicals

That bass might be freaking him out.

water temp is 81. I understand Lm bass arent tropical and i get crap time and time again on here from keeping them together but come on guys! I fish.... ALOT and i know as much as anyone that bass live in EVERY body of fresh water. I have caught bass in golf course lakes of 86 degrees. They are the most wide spread freshwater game fish around, and hardy too. They are in alaska AND mexico. Sorry for ranting but i had to finally get it out.

Now small mouth bass are the cold water species.

Do u think the aro is getting agressive in his older years lol?

Hes been with the bass his whole life and the only aggression iv seen between them is the aro head butted him once about a month back.

My arrows swim at the bottom and top of the water, when im near one side they will get agressive and start doing what your arow does, they will swim towards the glass and rub against it. Its normal imho.
