Shame that they are going to be put to sleep. I think they are being kind of extremist, considering stuff like the cane toads out there and so far contless colections with leos and aussi geckos and never leos were fond to be expecific transmiters of anything like a virus or alike that could afect aussi geckos. I think a compromise solucion could be arranged in wich people there could keep them but under close vigilance, say with inspecions, animal registracion, etc.
