Pleco and Catfish

I have a 6 inch catfish and about the same size pleco and they seem to fight over a similar spot in the tank. The pleco suctions itself onto the catfish sometime and they bump into each other a lot. Is this behavior normal or anything to worry about. They are in a 240 gallon aquarium. Any thoughts?
