how big of a pleco should i put in my 55 grow-out tank if there is a 5" female jag in there. She seems to eat or pick on what ever goes in that tank, and i was want a pleco or 2 in that tank. Will she just eat small ones or will it leave them alone, it left my peacock eel alone when it was in there it was about 10" so let me know your thoughts.

Maybe a large common or sailfin would have a chance. Just make sure they are bigger but you would need to put them in a larger tank in about a year or so.

just make sure they aren't small enough to fit in her mouth plecos can pretty much live with anything because they are so hard most fish don't mess with them maybe an occasional nip but it should be fine.

I had a 4 inch rubbernose pleco, two days ago I noticed my female jag swiming around with just my pleco's tail sticking out of her mouth. She swam around for like 8 hours with that poor guy in her mouth, and the next morning I found him headless laying on the gravel. Good luck, I'd suggest a large pleco for sure. I think I might try a Royal next time.

Go with a 7"-8" pleco at least. I had a male 7" jag that picked on my 10" sailfin pleco until I bought some more malaysian driftwood and gave the pleco a place to hide. Jags can just be bullies some times. My jag even picked on my 12" rtc so bad that I had to get rid of my rtc, and it was scarred up pretty bad.

big, remember the jag will out grow the pleco really quick. id say bigger the better maybe 8 or 9 inch
