Pleco and Oscar

i am a fan of the pterygoplychthys species, namely L083 (sailfin/gibbiceps) or L001 (gold spot/joselimaianus). they grow large quickly and can hold their own against larger fish, assuming they don't fit in the oscar's mouth initially. oscar temperment can vary greatly from fish to fish so it really depends on your oscar more than the pleco imo. traditional wisdom says that oscars will typically leave "bottom dwellers" alone. my 13" oscar does fine with my plecos, but then again i also have my tank stocked with bolivian rams, lemon, and black neon tetras and he doesn't eat those either, so to each their own.

+1
My two Oscars have a small bushy nose with them.
