Just wanted to ask some questions I have a few L134s do you think they will breed in a 4" by 1" by 1" slate cave? Is it enough room for it? Also when plecos breed does both of them have to be in the cave at the same time or female sits in there and lay eggs and then the male comes to do his work?

i don't know that much about them but go to planetcatfish.com

I know bristlenose males stay in the cave and females go in briefly to "do their thing" and leave. Then daddy takes care of the eggs and the fry until they're free swimming. It might be a similar process?

Pleco breeding its time consuming.. but it can be done in a slate cave..

Actually you'll have better luck with Zebra and albino bristle nose pleco than you would with L134s... not saying that its undo-able.. but L134s are harder...

With plecos its the size of the tank that matters and the community fish that are around it to replicate a natural environment enough that they'll breed...

Going back, The Female and the male does have to be in the cave together... and i believe its the female that guards the eggs.. or both parents.. Some species are different than others.. but it should be big enough that both plecos can fit inside and have enough rooms to mate...

I'll google some articles for pleco breeding... theres alot out there..
