for those who breed plecos i was wondering what you used as "caves"? I was asking because I am planning on breeding my clown pleco (L-103) and on planet catfish it said that the clown was a cave breeder. Also I was wondering if bristlenose plecos need a "cave" to breed in also?

You can use anything from PVC tubing to 2 base rocks with a piece of slate on top partially buried. plecocaves.com has some clay ones in a bunch of sizes. I personally used the square closed end ones for my BN but have also used the round ones for my other plecos. Make sure you have wood in the tank also. I used algae wafers and them conditioned them with some live whiteworms and shrimp pellets the animal protein helps them produce better eggs.
