Hey guys, I'm looking to get some calico longfin bristlenose plecos. I'm looking to breed them for some extra cash for the little odds and ends of breeding angelfish. Can someone just give me a basic overview of the entire breeding process?

For most, if not all, BNs, the process is pretty easy - put a male and a female in a tank, and they will breed. The trouble starts when you become overrun with fry and you need to get them to STOP breeding ! I have a pair of red ancistrus BNs, and I have to keep them in separate tanks until I can move the previous batch of fry. Good luck.

Bristlenose are easy to breed, the problem is will you be able to sell them, let alone price that you would be happy with. Its not as easy as it sound selling them. I was giving BN's for free and even have a hard time doing that. I'd try Leopard frog or something but you should do it as a challenge or hobby, not money making work.. Anyways good luck, BN's are easy to breed, just provide caves.
