i keep a lot of cichlids, mostly centrals that will get fairly large. most of my fish now are still juveniles to young adults.
i have a 100 gallon, 5x 40 gallons, 1x 50 gallon and a small 10 gallon hospital/quarantine tank.
i want to add some variety to my tanks, and am wondering which one of these are good.

queen arabesque
L134 leopard frog
L177 queen gold nugget

i've done my research and the first two stay around 4 inches, which i think is a manageable size for my grow out cichlids in the 2-4 inch range.
the gold nuggets will go into the 100 where there are larger cichlid residents. i don't think any of them will necessarily go after a pleco as they are pretty mild by CA standards i guess.
what do you guys think of my pleco choices? they will be there for largely algae control (except for the gold nuggets, which i think like meatier stuff) as well as interest and variety.
thanks.

i agree. but then again the large plecs dont even bother cleaning the glass nemore. u need to find a balance between durability and work ethic. much like in the real world.

buy an algae scraper, monitor your phosphates for algae control. When will the urban myth of plecos for algae control and that's their only purpose die?:nilly:

Quote from Planet catfish on suggested tankmates"Although strong currents are needed for breeding attempts, only good water quality and a high temperature are required for this fishes successful onward maintenance. Thus, characins are good biotope fish but you could look further afield at discus and gouramis. Most other cichlids tend to over compete for food with these fish, so be careful especially when introducing new gold nuggets"
