Im setting up a 10 gallon just cuz i can. I was thinking of taking one of my buddys albino BN fry (well about 1 inch now) for it and growing it until its bigger for my 40 gal. The thing is i have a 5" common in there which is goin into a bigger tank when hes bigger. Would a common and BN pleco be able to live in the same tank?

The two species should be ok, but the only concern is that at 1" they are fairly delicate and the 5" pleco can accidentally kill it. For instance a quick dart from the bigger pleco and accidentally hitting smaller pleco against something, this can potentially cause damage. Also if you do decide to try, which is the best way to know, make sure you have plenty of driftwood for cover.

Thanks ya i had that same concern cuz my common loves to dart around so thats why i would put the BN in the 10 gal so it could grow bigger until i put him inthe 40.

Thats something ive thought about my origianal plan was to get somwhere from a 100 to a 125 gallon. The problem i found out only a couple weeks ago is that the moms is doing some construction on the house and i cant put the big tank where i wanted it. Which is why i would keep the BN in the 10 gallon and also to grow it until its bigger.

Something else i just thought is that i dont have to get the albino baby BN, its just i have acess to them. If theres another pleco recommended to grow out in the 10 gallon, like a clown, i could try that.
