Pleco - Dead/Alive

Saw these invasive guys earlier today. One floating downside-up (dead) and another hiding inside a discarded cylinder frequently used by Peacock Bass for spawning.

damn... Wished I lived somewhere I could see pbass and plecos in their natural environment. But then again I don't think i could stand the heat
 
wish i could catch cichla all day, working sucks:(

lol I think the amazon might the place to go then, not florida.
Nice pics, sure the plecos feast on some nice cichla eggs.
 
The thing floating on the water is common in stagnant water. This was taken early in the morning before the winds kicked in to move the water and dissipate the whitish film that developed overnight.

I'm thinking somebody caught it released it but died from its ordeal. I've also seen dead mayans , tilapia, and grass carp floating before but this is the first time for a pleco
 
It would be funny to see plecs in the local waterways.
