I transferred one of my albino bushy nose plecos from my 125 gallon tank to a 29 gallong tank several days ago. This is one of my fry that had grown to about 3.5-4". My 29 gallon is on a stand with a 20 gallon underneath it. While working on my 20 gallon my albino pleco got startled and darted around and finally settled down. 10 minutes later I checked on my pleco and he was swimming around like he had brain damage and sank to the bottom of the tank. The fish finally flexed his whole body, stiffened up and died. Have any of you ever had a fish die this way? I have been keeping fish for a long time and have never experienced this.

Sorry for you loss dude, losing any fish sucks but it's worse when you bred them yourself.
yes I've seen this a few times over the years usually in old fish though. The heart just stops ...worn out I suppose.
Sounds like yours had a stress induced heart attack. Its strange in a younger fish though.
Albino animals don't seem so robust as their normal counter parts probably down to the inbreeding involved.

he may have hit his head on something while dashing around, hard enough to cause trauma and bleeding in the brain.
