mysteriously..
i noticed it pooped red.. it was green as usual, then suddenly there massive red thing in the poop. now its dead. i added algae fix abot 3 hours ago and right after fish started to hide.. im going to do a 20% water change.
also my pleco was feeding on clear algae growing. i think he might have ate too much (really fat stomach). any info on why he died is appreciated, and whether or not it could affect my other fish

Sure sounds like the "algae fix" you put in there. I stay away from quick fix chemicals like that. Don't you *want the algae in there anyway for the Plec to eat?

well there is the grass like algae... it suffocates my plants i've had it before. it killed the algae. and my pleco :\
i moved my eel and bichir to a 10 gal with my other community fish for the night. i might have been to late for the eel. he's been breathing quickely for a while :(

too bad i didnt read this before... i might just toss this damn bottle!!!

btw, i'm doing more than a 20% change now.

my oscar shows no signs of stress. my redhump doesn't either after the water changes.
the fact that a product that is very harmful to fish is being sold just downright PISSES ME OFF!!!!!

I've read in tons of different places not to use any kind of 'algae killer' in your tanks. I don't think it's any one in particular as much as just sticking to the rule of "no chemicals" whatsoever. Be very careful with ANY thing you put in your tanks.

my fish will be sleeping a little more crowded than they find confortable tonight.. i moved my 3" oscar, 5" geophagus, 3" senegal, 4" raphael, 6" eel, to a divided 10. i'll do water changes for another half hour but then i have to hit the hay...
eel is showing signs of improvement.. moves a lil, slower breathing.
