Tim my pleco is haveing a bit of a color change and i am worried.

he just moved to a new tank and i am wondering if that has anything to do with it.

He still eats well and still active as he used to be but still i am worried about the color change.

any and all help would be great thanks

Just a little stress, should be nothing to worry about, my gibbiceps and rusty do it often. Just keep an eye on him to see if hes eating and pooing.

Is the gravel different color from tank to tank? Looks like he's matching this tank's gravel.

I don't see any issues.

They got incredible camouflaging skills.
I remember when i got my first clown pleco, i though my eyes were fooling me, for he changed colour to match the gravel or dark spots.
This is my hypostomus, first pic is pleco at ease:

Very good pic... but i dont think thats a Clown pleco, it looks like an other version of a sailfin pleco.. no idea what it is. but i have the same fish... only about 5" right now...

But i would agree that they do change color... My Sailfin pleco L-082 changes shades of brown from time to time.. thought it was dead or something but it wasn't.. its just the way it is.. Same thing with Goldie Pleco, sometimes when stress.. certain colors will be different from others..

LOL, it a Hypostomus allright!
The Clown i was referring to is not in the picture.
My hypostomus is nearly a foot long and still growing, the clown on the other hand is adult now, and measures only 2 ".
