I recently got a small common pleco for my aquarium, its been about a week since ive had him and he doesnt seem to be eating. I put one alge wafer in on sunday night and i dont think he ate any of it, any advice on getting him to eat or reasons why he may not be eating?
thanks

one reason could be that it just hasn't adjusted to your tank yet, the other more sinister reason could be possible internal parasites, have you noticed white stringy feces or a sunken belly?

Give your new pleco lots of places to hide. It will likely get comfortable faster and eat sooner. Best to sacrifice viewing your fish for awhile although I know that's hard to do with a new PU!

Sometimes it may take a week or so for them to start feeding, just getting settled.
