What pleco would be good for a 55g that dosent get to big I have a comm pleco right now but they get to big and was planning getting rid of it when it got big I want something that only gets about 12" or so nothing to big.

What other fish do you have in your tank? Most hypancistrus work there. Panaque maccus, Ancistrus spp, Farlowella gracilis, Sturisoma panamense and Rineloricaria parva work there.

I have a JD,FM,Connvict and pictus cat and could you post their common name im not really sure whats what on their scientific names yet.
I wouldn't try what I suggested with a JD or a breeding pair of convicts. I didn't realize you have those fish. You'd certainly want the larger species of plecos for the JD but a 55g is nowhere near that spacious.

Clown pleco (Panaque maccus)
Bristlenose pleco (Ancistrus spp)
Royal farlowella (Farlowella gracilis)
Royal farlowella or twig catfish (Sturisoma panamense)
Whiptail pleco (Rineloricaria parva)

The reason I use scientfiic names a lot is they are more valid than common names wherein 2 or more fish even share the same name.;)

The BN and Clown maybe they only ones that can hang w/those tankmates. Even then, those Plecos don't get near 8" let alone 12. The cichlids you mentioned will def. outgrow the Plecos. causing other problems.
