Well my 26gallon has been established for a while. I think its time to get a fish to keep up with cleaning around there. Which kind of pleco would be good for this size tank? I was thinking maybe the Tiger or Clown Plec.? Or should I get a couple ottos instead?

Any tips/hints greatly appreciated. I would prefer a pleco that has some "pop" too it. Not a big fan of the spotted ones.

Its been up for 3 months. Has 3 Tiger barbs 3 Gourami's 2 Angels and a lone Clown loach(shame on me I know). And as far as snails....I'm not a fan.

The snail might not last with the loach in the same tank anyway. I would look at getting a dwarf ancistrus. They are said to reach 5" but rarely get over 3.5 and are great at eating algae.

I also may want to add, what prompted this was I noticed a brown colored algae on my suction cups for my heater. So I want to make sure that would be covered.

I think zebra snails would be best since I think they are better algae cleaners ( but then again, cleaning algae by hand is the best method).
Ottos would do a good job, but I am worried that the other fish might pick on them.

A clown pleco will get about 5-6 inches and should have a three foot tank or larger, but you could get away with a smaller one for now, but they are not great algae eaters....they like driftwood and they are kinda messy.

I have always read that, but my clowns don`t care about my zebra snails haha

Well tonight is my maintenance night so I plan on cleaning it up by hand. I just like the idea that it gives me an excuse to buy another fish to add to the stock.....

nothing wrong with that. I love plecos and catfish.

Komodo if it was your tank: what Pleco is good at algea would you put in it then? Ottos aren't out of the question either. The tank is bowfront, def. not 3' long.
