I need a pleco that will get along:
Texas x1
Green terror x1
Jack dempsey x1
Salvini x1

I will have alot of filtration from a fluval fx5, ac110, emp400.

I dont want a monster 24inch pleco. Just a mid sized pleco that get to around 10-12inches
Looking for something that is relatively active and look nice.

Commons are the most placid IME

Royal maybe?

Thats a nice list, thanks for sharing. Although my lfs dont carry most of those. I thought common plecs grow huge like 24inches. Also i've never seen royal plecs in my lfs before. If i have to go the common way i could rehome if he grows too large.

i would try and get an L-14, they are gorgeous, i almost got one but the guy i was ordering from couldn't find it when he was packing the box but they are supposed to be nice and active and are a more carnivorous pleco so they would have no issue eating what your cichlids drop

L200 are beautiful and great at defending themselves and demanding their rights to food.

Definitely avoid a common, as they well exceed your size limit, as do royals (albeit, very slowly).

If you can source one, I'd recommend a pseuda (L25, L114, L600, L273). They have great personality, look amazing and with their spiky armour, will do just fine in a large SA ciclid tank. Plus, they're carnivorous which is well suited to the the other tankmates diet.

The only issue is finding one in your area and cost. Most pseudas, even as juvies, go for $100++.

Another option (not as expensive) is some of the leporacanthicus species, particularly L91 or L240. Both very attractive plecos, although not as active as the pseudos.

If you're in Ontario CANADA, give me a shout. I occasionaly have L25 and L273 in stock, and almost always have Leporacanthicus species in stock. And I'm just outside Toronto :)

common plecs dont get as big as L025, yet youre saying that sommons exceed the OPs size limit and L025 dont.

If the OP doesnt want a very fancy plec, common is the way to go.
otherwise, the pseudas you suggested would work.

Thanks for the advice. Although my lfs dont name their plecos using the L-numbering system. They are all common names like bushynose and clown plecos. So idk if ill kno what these ll-number plecos you guys are saying because chances are my lfs wont have them and ill have to find them online. i've heard of a trinidad pleco or sailfin plecos. I've seen them at my lfs as well. The manager said they grow to around 11-12inches. Are these plecos viable?
