So when I first got into the hobby I got a 60l tank, went to the fish store and bought a few fish on the advice of the store. Most was ok being corys and guppies but I was also sold a pleco, with the advice it would live its days in the 60l. Fast forward a few months and I started to get concerned with the size he put on. I identified it as a sailfin leaopard plec.
I promptly got my larger tank and only had the plec in there.
After some resurch I found piranha can live with plecos, well the pleco did not like the P's and he attacked them, new tank time for the P's.
With that done I still had a large tank just one pleco.
I saved a 10inch oscar from the worst tank iv ever seen, I couldnt see the fish and it was in a bad way. I put the oscar with the pleco everything was fine for a wile but the pleco decided he wanted to latch onto the side of the oscar, another new tank then.
So now I still have a large tank with one pleco, I decided on a comunal type tank and found everything was fine.
Now 5 years on iv joined this forum and read that plecos mine in perticular can latch onto bichirs, omg I didnt want this as I had just got my 2 bichir.
So today I took him to a friend who has a large comunal tank with none of the above in.
This fish was an a** hole and put me through alot of stress so why do I feel so sad?
I mean I cared for him for 5 years and watched him grow from 2" to 16".

You've invested a lot of time and care into that pleco so eventhough it was an azzole you had to have grown some measure of fondness for it during the time you've had it.
Kudos for finding it a good home.

Yes I think your right, I did everything I could for him but sometimes you just have to let go. He is happy in his new tank and I am happy he went to a friend.

I couldn't have said it better myself Krich.
If you are open to the idea of getting another pleco and raising it from a tiny thing then plecos come in a wide range of sizes and growth rates, perhaps we can find you another pleco? The ones that come to mind first are bristlenose plecos since they are easy to find at the size of a fingernail (or at least for me) and royal plecos since they grow so slowly. Both are peaceful additions.

I do have a bristlenose in one of the smaller tanks, the size was no issue he was just agressive. I would like another pleco maybe one that could live with my oscars but I have large raphael cats in there would this be an issue?
I did love that plec would like one that gets to around a foot with more of an algue diet rather than eating everything that hits the bottom.
Sugestions would be welcome.
