Pleco Hanging Out Spot

Would plecos(that don't require real driftwood) cling onto artificial wood & rocks? or will they try to bite through it?
something like this.

and for the plecos that do need it which do you recommened?
malaysian or mopani(swahala) driftwood?

Plecos will still cling on anything else.

They will probably hang out in that, but they really like 'hollow log' type ornaments that they can actually get inside. Advantage of those is you can set them up in the tank so you can still see the pleco even when it's 'hiding'

They will probably graze algae off them like any other surface, but they aren't very tasty to actually eat.
