Hi, I'm Dr.B i am not usually in the plecostomus section but i am today. i am looking for a small pleco that i can fit into a 20 gallon with a breeding pair of apistogrammas? i was thinking of a bristlenose but it just seems too bland. But if the bristlenose plecos are the way to go. Can i breed them as well as the apistogrammas? But if i can i would like something that would destroy the breeding mood for my apistos. but i need some one to do maintenance. I took my Normal pleco out of it a couple days ago. he keeps switching from my 75 to my 20 because i don't have a pleco designated for my 20. so i need a small interesting pleco that i could possibly breed? any suggestions? Thanks in advance Dr.B :D

Also to add this i just rehomed my fish in my 20 gallon a couple of days ago so it has been unattended for something like 2-3 days and info helps thanks!!!

Look into the hypans they stay small are not to aggressive. Like the L66s and L333 and L46s and L102s and L260s just to name a few. They are not overly tough to breed either. And love and need a higher protien diet.

Something simple and not overly expensive, i would say Clown pleco and they small too.

How about a couple of L400s or L450s ? Both are hypancistrus, stay under 5", and are not difficult to keep or breed.
