pleco I.D

hi, can anyone I.D my pleco, i got him a few months ago sold to me as a common peco but he has different markings than a common, anyone know what he is? he also grows quite fast, from 3 inches to 4.5 inches in a couple months

i could quess what he is.. but i won't .. let someone give you a positive ID,, but he is one beautiful pleco....... and he was a lucky find...!!!!

Gold spot pleco / gibbiceps. I find them hard to tell them apart when they're young but i'm leaning more to the Gold Spot.

It's Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus, common names are L001 and 'Gold Spot' like above.

Thank guys, I'm glad that they don't get more than a foot long but does anyone know the growth rate?

Well mine is a little over 14" TL, so not to burst your bubble they do get over a foot. Growth rate is around an inch per month until around 8" then it tends to slow down. Make sure to vary his diet with pellets, wafers, veggies ect.ect...

Yea i'll find some recent ones. His name is tebow (because he sucks) he is around 5 or 6 years old.
