This is about the best pic I have been able to get of him so far. Was sold as, iirc, a L155.

its not a L155 thats for sure.I think it a Baryancistrus species probably L142.

It appears to be LDA33. It definitely isn't an L155 for a few reasons. 1 it has spots. Two it looks like a baryancistrus. Three, it isn't an Acanthicus, as it has an adipose fin.
 
Yes, I'd agree with the L142/LDA33, There are many black, white spotted plecos, it isn't an Acanthicus, Leporacanthicus, Hypancistrus etc, which are easy enough to tell apart from this body structure.
 
Ok, my local club pres confirms (I got it at our auction and misplaced the tag!)

This sound better? "I am 99% sure that was bag NW51 which is an LDA33. It's from the Baryansistrus family per www.planetcatfish.com."
