A friend of mine is giving me this pleco. We think it may be a male Medusa. I'm interested in hearing about experiences of others who keep them.

I'm considering putting him in my moderately planted 110 SA cichlid tank, however I have an adult male L240. I'm concerned they would not get along due to their sex and somewhat similar appearance. Other occupants of the 110 are my Geo red heads, 2 Hypselacara temporalis, 2 Bujurquina, 2 Austroloheros Pariabe. All are WC. Its a peaceful tank. If this isn't ideal, I have other tanks.

Thanks!

It may be a bushy nose pleco.

Im no pleco expert but it looks identical to my bn except it has longer fins and ive seen long fin bn pleco for sale before while l34 have a wider broad head like a rubber lip pleco or chubby pleco

Looks like everyone was correct. My friend said he was obtained as part of a swap and told he was a BNP. We were not sure since he's really black with spots and his head is huge. He was able to get in touch with the person he swapped with and this is what he said:

"Those Bushy Nose came from a forum member of NYCichlids. He had a huge wholesale Malawi breeding set up in his basement and had BN in most all the fry tanks. His fish are mixed mutts. They have genes for albino, long fin, short fin, brown. I have some at work spawning and get albino fry and brown. The fry are only 1/2" now so can't tell if they are long fin."

Mystery solved! Thank you very much for the replies.
