I know it isn't a scarlet but having trouble finding a comprehensive species guide to tell me WHAT it is.

Looks like a cross between L24 and L25! Never seen that pattern on an L24 or that color on an L25.

Hey, where's his adipose fin?

He's never had a visible adipose fin. Not sure what that means for him... ?

I guess it was a tricky one. Well this guy is for sale right now, I'm in the chicago area. Hoped to identify him before I put it up on the for sale forum. I paid $50 when he was 4" hes around 5-6" now. Looking for $50 local pick-up.

If that's an L114 I'm buying one today... Do they usually get greenish?

It doesn't look like an L114 to me, the bottom fins are different. Along with the color and pattern. Looks close to a Pseudacanthicus spinosus. but the coloration is way different. I have no clue what it is I'm by far no expert on plecos. My guy doesnt have any green on him though.
