I really have been looking at plecos but i dont know which ones to get. the high fins are nice but i want a pleco that can last in a 30 gallon tank for awhile.

If you like long/high fins, you can look into Longfin bristlenose plecos. I think they can live in a 30, as they only grow to around 4-5".
Vampires or green phantom's might fit(single plecos, as they may fight with each other)
