So my girl wants to start a 5 gallon. She really likes the "sucker fish". So is there any pleco out there that is capable of living in a 5 gallon? Any so called dwarf plecos? haha let me know. If not, when the pleco gets bigger ill just put it in my 100 Gallon.

Not advisable to place any pleco in such a small tank. That's not possible especially as they poop a lot and makes it harder for you to control the water quality in a limited space where dilution of wastes is very much limited.

Yeah It's called an Otto(That is if by Pleco you mean Lorcarid Catfish).... Three of them and a betta with filter and heater OR just three of them

She currently has 2 otto's right now and she hates them

An AC 50 on a 5 gallon would be like Niagara falls. To be honest plecos don't eat "poop" or algae that well. So if that's the appeal you may be disappointed. Alot of people get plecos for this reason. There is alot more interesting things you can put in a 5 gallon.

Of coarse a 10 gallon would be better, but it is doable. I had a Dwarf Gibbicepps in a 5 gallon myself. Just make sure to keep up with gravel vacuuming. I never had issues with ammonia/nitrates and the fish was happier than a pig in sh@t. He was the only inhabitant and got all the food he wanted.

I have kept a pleco in a 5. But this was only for a few months and it was a rubber nosed. I say you go for it and when he gets about 5-6 inches move him out. Just my opinion though.

A Standard Bristlenose woudl be ok in a 5g with weekly WC's and decent filtration
