Pleco in liner pond?????

Does anybody know if a large common pleco could chew a hole in a 16 gauge pvc pond liner i have never put one in one of my ponds and want to put him a bigger home but dont want to come down and find my pond empty I have heard members say that they can gouge acrylic this is why i ask first?????

I'm not sure not having done it before but some of my plecs have chewed some serious chunks out of the driftwood in my tank and have seen how deep the holes that were left in potatoe slices so imo i wouldnt do it
If oddball dosnt catch this thread i would pm him he knows more about plecos then anyone i know.

i know some of the big ones can take chunks out of acrylic so....

this is why i ask he has outgrown my 110 so i wanted to put him in my pond

My 36 incher and 19 incher never touched the polyethylene walls, of my 650, for chewing. At least, I've never seen blue shavings in the prefilter. I'd venture the guess that if bacteria were to invade the liner, the plecos might chew on it. These cats grind driftwood not for the wood but for the simple sugars produced from bacteria that inhabit the surface of the wood.
