When you measure your pleco what is the best way to do it? I've been measuring from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail-fin, is that correct?

Yes this is the way suppliers measusre as to give the illusion of a larger fish they are selling. Standard length (sl) is from the snout to where the tail starts. I prefer total length since imo the tail is part of thr fish and needs room also.
