I recently posted a few weeks back about housing oscars with 2 red devils. Obviously not a great Idea so I rid of the devils n kept my tiger Oscar. However I was recently in a pets shop n cuddnt go past buying a pleco. I hope I have made the right choice. ATM the Oscar and pleco are living peacefully. I'm hoping if they grow up together there will be no probs. They are each is roughly 3 inch. Thoughts?

I've had multiple oscars living with my common pleco for over 3 years now. With the right sized aquarium and good tank husbandry you should have no problems.

I had a breeding pair of oscars in with a lima shovelnose catfish, they all got on great and no issues at all.

And plecs have armour, so if they left a lima shovelnose alone I'm pretty sure a plec would be fine. My old Bifa used to nip at the plecs fins though which really pissed it off. so look out for this and add a cave so the plec can sit in it safe (thats what I did) my plec is around 17" so he doesn't move all that much.

Shouldnt be any problem dispite their peaceful nature pelcos can get aggressive. I would say add a piece of pvc pipe or cave for the pelco to hide out.

I've got plecos in all my tanks, and 2 of my tanks have oscars, and I have no issues whatsoever.

i have a 16 inch sail fin pleco that grew up with 4 oscars, the oscars never bother him even them even now at 14 inchs. if anything the pleco will bug the oscars a bit trying to stick to them
