ok, so i have a pond housing two RTC's. leading up to this pnd is a "river" or "stream" it has a lot of rocks in it. the rocks a covered in algae. so im wondering if i could take these rocks and place them in my tank which houses a 16' clownknife and a 12' pleco. will this affect the water in a negative way? will the pleco even be interested in eating the algae off of these rocks? is it ok to introduce this much algae into an extremly clean aquarium? i understand that even if this is doable that the rocks are not a staple food for the pleco :)

I would not personally do that, it is not the staple of their diet anyway. You never know what micro organisms could be living in your pond and may pose a health hazard to you indoor fish. Plecos tend to want to munch mainly on DW anway. Just MO though.

I disagree, I would add them. Try adding one or two and see if the plec takes any interest, if so add the rest and use them in a cycle. They replicate the natural diet very well, grazing on the algae and biofilm growth on surfaces.
