How many plecos can you have in a 90. I a going to get some tomorrow. The tank has drift wood and tons of algae. I am wanting a gold nugget or a royal. My LFS has blue phantoms currently, (new shipment tomorrow). I have to get 1 to get rid of the algae (I will leave with one more are just a treat). So in short how many plecos can I get for my 90 once they get to 6in or so I am willing to sell, also this tank is going to be a discus tank by the end of this year.

sorry filtration is a emperor 400

and I know the royal at least will eat the algae (have a 125 that was like the 90 with 3 sides covered with algae and over night the 3inch royal at 90% of the algae).

I doubt this happened. If algea is the issue, get amano shrimp, SAE or panda garra maybe? or stick with bristlenose

the algea is a isn't a issue i had it grow out for a different reason nd i know a royal would take care of it (did the same thing in my 125 and a royal cleaned it up over night).

what is a SAE and how much would a panda garra cost. the shrimp are out (could realisticly get eatten) and the bristlenose for me at least doesn't do it i want something with more color or a better look and its nice to have a fish you can sell for a large amount if need be.

+1 Even ghost shrimp have always been better algae cleaners than most plecos, IME (with the sole exception of a Chaetostoma thomasi that I had several years ago).
