ive had him for about 3 weeks now and he did fine the whole time. Started feeding some wafers that he and the other bottom feeders like. Came home one day and he was on the gravel. Didn’t think too much of it, he then swam close to the surface, flipped belly up sank a bit, did the same thing again but this time landed on the bottom and stayed there. Pulled him out and wasn’t breathing. Here’s pics. I could find anything out of the ordinary. Maybe he just didn’t get enough food idk.

Im sorry for the loss. Hard to say why since youve had him such a short time. Was he quarentined at all before being added to the main display?

He wasn’t because he was one of the first fish in the tank so I figured it wouldn’t make a difference if I treated in or out of my main tank. My ammonia and nitrite are at 0. Nitrates are between 0-5. I do water changes fairly regularly. I noticed day before that when he was on the glass he would slide down slowly. Didn’t think much of it thought it was a little odd. I have a rubber nose and he’s doing fun. Along with 2 corys and loaches. Fairly sensitive fish and also a Knifefish and all of them are doing fine. My only guess is didn’t get enough maybe the rubber nose stole food from him not sure...
