I have a 90 with the following plants:
Anubias nana
Anubias barteri
Amazon sword

I want to replace the 2 common plecs I have with smaller, more colorful pleco's that will still clean up some algae on the rocks, wood, and tank walls.

Tanks mates are:
JD
FM
Salvini
GT

None of the fish bother the pleco's but the biggest pleco runs the tank and its about to hit 10." They are friggin poop machines too

I have considered the bristlenose plecs but would like some more suggestions as my knowledge of Pleco's is limited until I can read up on them. Would like to keep max size under 8" please

Thanks!:headbang2

one more thing I forgot

Looking for Plecos I see numerous species identified by L###

Is there a list someplace where I can pick a few to read up on based on photo's? Where do you guys/gals get such info? Planetcatfish.com?

thanks again

i think planetcatfish has a section where you search for L numbers...
shows you pictures and then you can click on them for the profile.

i had the same question, but it kinda turns out the ones i wanted weren't too suitable for cichlids.

EWOK: your sig says...5 Grammodes, 1 Festae, 2 Loisellei, 1 Red Tiger Mota, 3 Polleni, 2 Jaguar cichlids, 3 Clown loaches, 1 Argentea, 1 Altifrons, 4 Nandopsis Bartoni, 1 Bushy Nose pleco

So can I assume the bushy nose will be tough enough based on your stocking? Not sure if you have them all in the same tank tho ;)

I will visit Planetcatfish too

Thanks

the bushy nose is in a grow out tank of cichlids around 1inch long...
not all my cichlids are monsters

YET :D

OK I picked up a bushy nose and traded my 2 common plecos (10" & 7") for a Gold Nugget at my LFS :D

The Gold nugget is hiding and still getting aclimated but the bushynose is growing onme fast. He's a GREAT cleaner and is looking really good. Will post pics later on. Thanks for all the advice everyone! :headbang2

gold nuggets are very timid from my experince. and i agreee with you , the BN's are cool, they have very good personallites watching all of mine play around, all 7 of them.. lol.
