Which pleco eats uneaten food from the bottom of the tank the best?

Problem you'll encounter is that species known to graze on detritus usually produce more detritus than the original bio-load of the system. You'd be better off adding some MTS (Malaysian trumpet snails) to your tank than a pleco to help breakdown and breakup detritus in the substrate.

Don't need another snail prob...already had one in my 15

I've had common plecos, a spotted hi-fin and a leopard frog pleco that ate food off the bottom. I've heard it's not as good for them as algea but what's to stop them? If I over feed my fish just a little my female GT bites the remaining pellets and sinks them, I'm starting to think she's feeding the plecos on purpose! weird.

My Severum is picky....he only eats them from the top.
