My sail fin pleco keeps trying to suck on my polpterus's (palmas palmas)head and tail..?
is this aggressive behavior, should I separate the two? The pleco doesn't go after my other polypterus (senegaulas)only my new one.

Separate them immediately! Pleco's can kill bichirs by constantly sucking on their slime coat. It seems like your developed the taste of slime coat so it will not stop and it'll eventually start goin after your others as well. Bichirs and pleco's do not make a good combo with very few exceptions.

+1 I've heard some horror stories about poly deaths due to plecos sucking.

Pleco's are known to suck slime coat's off of polypterus after there is a portion of the polypterus's slime coat taken off they become susceptible to disease and can get bacterial infections that may kill them. That is why it is advised to never have the to in the same aquarium

Thanks so much, they're separated right now as soon as I saw this. I seperated them last night because it was harassing my bichir and just put him in when I got home from school now they're separated again

On the same topic but a bit of a deviation, Are their pleco species that might have a better chance working?

Bristlenoses are known to work, but are also sometimes eaten by the polys because of the size difference
