Pleco vs Pkeco

ok.. so i bought these fish a few years apart one is nearly a foot (in a diff thread Id as a Sail fin ^_^..looking for a home)

the other is about 3 inches, and was sold as a High Fin Spotted as well..but was IDed as a L001....same fish different markings? or different fish? bought at the same store.

Different species (but similar). Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps and Ptergoplichthys joselimaianus.

Fish stores have a bad habit of calling Ptergoplichthys joselimaianus a spotted sailfin which just confuses the buyer.

wish i could find a p. joselimainanus sold around here, i've heard that some petsmarts are selling them as "hi-fin spotted" plecos. all the petsmarts around where i live sell gibbiceps as "hi-fin spotted". its funny because they have the little information cards on the tanks saying that they reach sizes up to 18" but only require a 20gal tank.
