Have a 4" pleco with a small, clear blister by his dorsal fin. Tried to take a Pic, but nothing comes through clear in them. Definitely not an ich bump, really almost looks like a fish egg but no mating or egg-laying fish in the tank with the pleco.

Specs:
170g
10-15ppm nitrate
Other tank mates:
1 oscar
3 Ropefish
1 black spot eel
1 synodontis catfish
1 BGK

Other than this bump I've never noticed before, the pleco appears normal, no sunken belly, no stringy white poop, and is still eating normally. Never seen anything like this before and Google is giving me nothing...

What are your other water params? Potentially a parasite of some kind but it's quite a mystery. Could you post as good a picture you can get of it.

I just turned the lights off for the night after feeding, so I'll see if I can get one tomorrow. But yeah, it's very weird...

Ok I'm off tomorrow so I'll check in throughout the day to see if I can help.

Clearest Pic I could get. Clear lump is gkne and now has a stringy thing poking out from where it was.

I would say it's probably a parasite of some kind, though I am unsure.

I'll just have to keep an eye on it then. Don't want to treat the tank without knowing what's going on obviously.

Hard to tell what it is from the pic. Keep water clean and hope it’s some lymphocystis that needs to clear.
