pleco with cichlid other than bristle nose

is there any other pleco that can go into a african cichlid tank other than a bristle nose or a common.

nothing wrong with bristle nose. Just its what is alot of cichlid tanks i want something different.

I have all types with my pleco. Just look at my pics. They are tough. Have you ever picked one up out of a tank? They are well protected by design. I would just stay with colon.

at the risk of asking a dumb question what do mean by "I would just stay with colon"

I tried some of the fancy Plecs with my Malawis, and it didn't end well.
Opposite ends of the spectrum for water parameters, setup, food. Not a good combo.

A Bristle Nose or common are probably the only option.

if ur trying to go different then the norm, why not try one of the different color morphs with the bristle? theres plenty to choose from and u get a nice fish that wont over grow ur tank, as well as piece of mind to know ur not following the leader much as u were

Maybe you could keep the tank 100% african and go with a synodontis.

will a synodontis eat algae? That's my purpose for getting a pleco. I am also looking for a synodontis, thinking 1 of 2 fish.
