I have a tank with some Convicts and a Red Devil. They have killed every pleco I've put in with them, but its been years since I've tried. I have many more rocks/hiding places than I previously did and would like to try a pleco again. Any suggestions for a type of Pleco that is a real survivor?

The RD is what is the problem of the tank....

The RD doesn't really bother anyone else. the cons are constantly teasing the RD. I just know there are alot of people that keep plecos with RDs. My RD is very mild tempered.

I was just thinking that there may be a species of Pleco that is quicker and a little more defensive-minded.

i've kept a common pleco and a butterfly pleco in my all SA/CA cichlid tank for a few months now and they have been fine.

my jack dempseys and firemouths ate my albino bushy nose and even my flying foxes....might be an isolated incident.

Find an adonis pleco.
It won't get killed.

No guarantees on it not bothering the fish though.

Mine got his eyes eaten out , then his fins, then the rest of him..............

It's really more of a hit or miss situation, although a BIG specimen of what ever type you try has a better chance.

go with a common pleco. their tough and have strong skin and if they die go to petco and pick up another :)
