Pleco with JAG

typically with large agressive fish most will recomend against keepign apleco with them. In my experience it's ok as long as the pleco outsizes the agressive fish by a decent margin. so if you have a 6" jag you need a 10" + pleco and you should be fine.

the issue comes in that a 10" pleco will be expensive unless it's a common. and a common will outgrow most tanks. a royal would look nicer but at 10" be pricy and still have the issue of outgrowing most tanks. samller plecos will not outgrow the tank but they will be picked on by the jag who will eventually grow larger than them.

so short answer yes if you have a 250g + tank. no if you don't

It really depends on the individual fish , but my Jag' is in with 2 14inch Common Pleco and i have had no problem they have been in the same tank for about a year now .

to be honest... my jag is with a 2 inch royal and has no issues with small plecos!

ive had my common pleco with every type of cichlid just about... he survived a breeding pair of dovii, breeding pair of jags, a 13" midas, he could survive anything. none of the fish really paid much attention to him, i have a black background and he just blends in if they chase him.

I have an 11" jag and a 3.5" bushynosed pleco. If the pleco comes out in the daytime lookout. I've looked in at night and the plec is out and the jag is not bothering him.
