I've seen plecos successfully kept with rays, but I always worried about trying it myself. So my question is: Is there a pleco that can be kept with rays and with plants? If there is, please tell me the common name and L-number.

L#'s are a common name, and there are none I would personally chance with rays. As far as plants go, they will all do fine, given enough food, and proper hiding places. They will occasionally tear up a plant though.

Personally I would never chance a ray with a pleco... some do and have mixed results, but there isn't one species better than others.
Plants, the larger plecos may uproot them and some do eat them.... there is a few planted tank/pleco threads out and about. A lot you won't have problems with plants though.

i can't remember who it was, but some member here had a pleco who decided to suck on the ray's disk, and got speared all the way through. They ray then got an infection from where the pleco broke the skin. It was a double disaster, so I say nay.

yeah sensible... for a fish that is prone to sucking on slime coats, a ray is literally a dinner plate for it... many cannot resist the temptation so to speak.
