ive brought my pleco in for the 2nd winter now, hes gotten bigger than last winter and what im wondering is if his 30 gallon aquarium is big enough for him for the winter months, hes about 10 in probably. Also how long should i wait before i feed him algae tabs, how long before he gets fully adjusted to the temp change, the pond is about 50 degrees and the aquarium in about 74, help will be greatly appreciated, koi are so much easier to care for but im determined to keep mud pie alive and healthy

50 degrees f is below the kill temp for common plecs I think.

I’d do a pretty slow temperature acclimation if you have to go up 24 degrees! Try to start with colder water then slowly start heating it over several days/weeks even.
The increased temps will bump mud pie’s metabolism up so feed the algae tabs fairly quickly.
