plecos and sand

how do plecos do with sand substrate?

Idk my normal 8" pleco is chilling in a sand 75gallon now so i guess good?

I have plecos in thanks with regular gravel and I have them in tanks that have sand. I would say that they do fine in both. I havent seen any ill effects of the sand at all.

Over the years keeping plecos i have found they enjoyed the sand much better as they could clear out areas under DW easyer with sand.

or you could give them caves. there is no harm in using sand substrate what so ever, they do perfectly well in it, my new pleco tank is sand. some plecos do prefer larger stones though too.

My 300gl has sand in it and my watermelon royal loves it.

i just think that almost all Fishes like sand more then gravel

i have also sand in my tank and the pleco's and ray's love it

i have had bare and sand and im not sure which they like best but i do notice they really like to graze in the sand.
