Yesterday I put carrots in my tanks for my plecos. (First time, learned here!!!) They didn't go crazy. Actually, they paid it no mind and when they did it was only to "inspect". Hhhmmm. (no blanching)

I don't hear a lot of success stories with carrots. My plecos love asparagus. Maybe you could try that. I don't know about its nutrition content though. My plecos also prefer cucumbers over zucchini but I hear that it's less nutritious than zucchini. Maybe cuz it's so high in water content(?).

Mine love zuchinni and eat a whole one a week.
I tried potato, banana, spinach and cucumber but they didn't like that.
Keep trying until you find something they like.
zuchinni is your best bet.

I find adult pleco of most types will go for carrots more than youngsters will. All my adults plecos eat carrots. The ones that eat them most are L-330, L-114 and L-600. The youngsters I have of the same type do not touch the carrots.

mine doesn't like carrots so much, but will eat it if he has to :D although i put in a blanched slice of courgette and he went nuts over it and so did my tinfoil barbs who wouldnt stop eating it.
