i have a problem feeding my plecos zucchini and cucumbers. i have 2 blue phantoms and a mango... they never touch the zucchini and cucumbers when they are in the tank. only thing they seem to eat is algae wafers and sinking carnivore pellets. they dont even eat live tubiflex worms. what can i do to get these guys to eat other things besides prepared food. thanks

Try different things like skinned potatoes, squash, lettuce, or carrots. Plenty of other veggies/fruits to try as well.

Also do they have driftwood in the tank? If so they could be chowing down on that as well...

1) How long have you had them
2) When and how do you feed them
3) Read the dietry thread for some more ideas on what to feed your pleco.

1. had them for about a month now, but its not my 1st fancy pleco.
2. i tried feeding them once a week with real veggies and i pretty much just cut the zucc/cucum and rubberband it around a spoon
3. yeah ive read that... just havent tried any other veggies because ive always had good luck with zucc/cucum

i guess i can try other veggies and fruits... but how come they dont go for the tubiflex worms? blue phantoms are omni and so is the mango

is driftwood pleco's natural diet??

depends on what pleco. some plecos like a royal need driftwood... its their main diet. im not too sure what other plecos munch on driftwood.

Pleco's dont use driftwod as thier diet, but more or less to aid in thier digestion.
Also, you should be feeding your plec's more than just once a week with veges. I give mine veges every 2-4 days.
